Dr. Naila Esmail is a podiatric physician and surgeon in practice since 2008.
 
Dr. Esmail attended the University of Karachi, Pakistan, where she received a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) in 1988. She then attended Barry University School of Podiatric Medicine in Miami Shores, FL., where she graduated with a Doctorate of Podiatric Medicine in 2008. Dr. Esmail’s completed her postgraduate education in 2010, with a three-year podiatric medicine & surgery residency at Westchester General Hospital in Miami, FL.
 
Dr. Esmail has received certification in Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) from the American Heart Association. She is licensed to practice podiatric medicine and surgery in Florida, as well as well as medicine, surgery, obstetrics & gynecology in Pakistan.
 
Dr. Esmail is a member of the American Podiatric Medical Association (APMA), the Florida Osteopathic Medical Association (FOMA), the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons (ACFAS), and the American Diabetes Association (ADA).
 
Since 1997, Dr. Esmail has volunteered her time improving the quality of life and educating communities on proper nutrition, well-being, and health maintenance for various community organizations and marginalized individuals in Florida.

Dr. Contreras attended Florida Atlantic University in Boca Raton, where she earned both a Bachelor of Science and a Master of Science. She then attended Barry University School Of Podiatric Medicine in Miami Shores where she earned a Doctorate of Podiatric Medicine, and graduated with honors in 2014.
 
Evidence-based medicine and the latest advancements in podiatric technology support Dr. Contreras’ specialties in chronic wound care and diabetic pathologies and lower limb revascularization, limb salvage, gait analysis, vascular disease, and muscle-tendon-transfer for wound prevention. She is affiliated with North Shore Medical Center in Miami, FL.
 
Annual domestic and international mission trips, and speaking both English and Spanish, helps Dr. Contreras relate well to patients of different backgrounds and races, and treating them holistically.
 
As an animal lover, Dr. Contreras lives with three dogs, six cats and a Quacker parrot. She loves flying and recently achieved her private pilot license. She also enjoys taking long walks and playing the piano.

Abir Zafar, DPM, is a dedicated and skilled podiatric physician and surgeon from Miami, Florida, committed to providing advanced foot and ankle care with precision and compassion. She earned her Doctorate of Podiatric Medicine from Barry University School of Podiatric Medicine in Miami Shores, FL, graduating in May 2020. Before pursuing her doctorate, Dr. Zafar received her Master of Science in Medical Biotechnology from Barry University in May 2016 and her Bachelor of Science in Biology with a minor in Psychology from Florida International University in 2013.

Dr. Zafar completed her postdoctoral training in a rigorous Podiatric Surgical Residency, PMSR/RRA, at HCA Florida Mercy Hospital/Barry University in Miami, FL, graduating in June 2023. Her clinical and surgical experience spans trauma, reconstructive forefoot and rearfoot surgery, and minimally invasive techniques.

Her research contributions include multiple case reports such as Recurrent Invasive Lobular Mass in an Athletic Female Soccer Player, Athlete with Isolated Syndesmotic Injury with Subsequent Ankle Fracture, Minimally Invasive Technique for Forefoot Reconstruction in a Rheumatoid Arthritis Patient, and Pediatric Osteochondroma.

Dr. Zafar’s advanced training includes participation in several esteemed programs such as the Lower Extremity IEP Fellows and Young Surgeons Course, Stryker Framing Solutions Surgical Lab, ACFAS Internal Fixation Course, and Treace Lapiplasty Cadaveric Training. She also attended the Present Podiatric Residency Education Summit East and Stryker Circular Fixation in Foot and Ankle Practice.

Her certifications include Basic Life Support, Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support, Pediatric Advanced Life Support, and successful completion of Parts I, II, and III of the National Boards of Podiatric Medical Examiners between 2018 and 2019.

Dr. Zafar blends evidence-based medicine with skilled surgical care and a personal touch to help patients regain movement and confidence in their daily lives. She speaks English, Spanish, Urdu, and Hindi, creating an inclusive environment where every patient feels understood and supported.
